greatest modern-day Hawaiian waterman, Eddie Aikau, was honored with
a big wave tournament the likes which the sport had never seen following
his tragic death. In this the inaugural event, thirty of the greatest
riders in the world gathered at Waimea Bay to honor the legend and
compete in radical twenty-five foot surf. |
